When we are in the habit of something, say, complaining, whining, being negative, it takes effort and planning to create a new habit. Create some signals for yourself that will remind you to pay attention to what you’re paying attention to. Mary Morrissey has handles. I have pets.
Every time I see or touch a pet I remember to tune in and see what I’m doing; where I’m putting my energy. If I catch myself being negative or giving energy to something I don’t want, I make a change. I choose something positive to focus on and a more pleasant way to be.
