12 Sep How Do We Cope With The Loss of a Loved One?
“You think the dead we loved ever truly leave us? You think that we don’t recall them more clearly than ever in times of great trouble? Your father is alive in you, Harry, and shows himself plainly when you have need of him.” – Professor Dumbledore – Harry Potter and The Prisoner Of Azkaban – J K Rowling.
Sometimes when I am not inspired on any particular message for these daily mails, I will reach out to loved ones and see what is on their mind. In this way, I know at least one person is served by the message for the day. Today it was my beloved niece and she told me she lost her grandmother last night.
Me: “Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry. Are you ok?”
Alison: “I’m OK. She’s in paradise now and will never hurt again.”
Alison is absolutely inspired in her belief. Death is a very complex subject; well for humans it is. The rest of nature accepts death as just another part of the cycle of life. We are all divine, eternal beings; never born, never died, simply having a short adventure as a human in this worldly realm. The people we love never leave us. It is good to grieve and mourn and perform the rituals in saying goodbye. Then to honor them by living well.
